Hello dan,
Although this paper is about copper rod pickling in a brand new rod mill, you might want to order this abstract:
"Acid pickling of copper rod with no effluent" By: N. Stone, Ledge Engineering Inc. and Canada Wire and Cable Ltd., W.A. Jones, R. Corcoran, S. M. Jaczek, 1984
This system is, to the best of my knowledge, still working well.
Go to: www.wirenet.org/technical/abstract/abstract.cfm
Unfortunately Ledge Engineering (Chemical process consulting engineers.) no longer exists (Owners retired.) and Canada Wire Cable is now owned by Nexans but the principles of course are still the same.
Kindest regards,
