Hello,
In my lubricant, sulfur is used along with sodium stearate.
There is no problem in drawing the wires but the finish is black in color and is shiny. I want a dull or matte finish instead.
If I use sodium sulfide in the formulation, will this give me good lubrication properties? Please give me your advice on the issue.
I plan to use sodium sulfide along with graphite and omit the sodium stearate. Does sodium sulfide have lubricating properties?
Thank you.
With regards

There is a webinar on lubricants on the page of the Wire Association which you can look at and also to contact the author Mr. David Gzesh.
A combination of calcium and sodium normal commercial lubricant soaps can give you the finish appearance you are looking with good lubrication properties. Normally the two or three passes with calcium and the rest with sodium base soaps will give you a good finish and performance
