Hello
We have some expired enamel (polyesterimide). What are the risks If we use ti in the enameling process for copper wire ?

Hello,

We suggest you discuss this with your enamel manufacturer to get their assessment of risk.

Likewise and from an obvious liability perspective, we cannot recommend the use of any enamel past its expiry date.

Peter is right. Discuss with the supplier. If the material has been stored in an indoor environment, it might be ok. Obviously you would want to make sure that it is well mixed and any thing that had settled out was either back in solution or dispersion. Depending upon how much you have - run a short trial. If the finished product meets or exceeds all electrical requirement then iyou have to decide if you want to use it. I would only use the barrell that were still sealed. Sometimes if you are good customer, the manufacturer will take it back and reprocess it. Again you have to ship it etc.,
